About This Role

Microsoft is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Software Engineer to join their team. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of computer science fundamentals and proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, and Python.

The ideal candidate will have experience in software design, coding, debugging, and team collaboration, as well as hands-on experience with AI development tools like GitHub Copilot and ChatGPT. The candidate will be responsible for actively participating in the complete software development lifecycle, including development, testing, integration, deployment, and cross-team collaboration.

The candidate will also be responsible for enhancing Windows AI capabilities by building model tools, improving inference performance, and supporting hybrid and local AI solutions. The candidate will maintain high engineering standards by focusing on reliability, performance optimization, telemetry, and privacy-by-design practices.

Requirements

Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals
Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, and Python
Experience in software design, coding, debugging, and team collaboration
Hands-on experience with AI development tools like GitHub Copilot and ChatGPT
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and hypothesis-driven thinking skills
Solid experience in promoting inclusive and collaborative work environments
Demonstrates a growth mindset, professionalism, and composure under pressure

Responsibilities

Actively participate in the complete software development lifecycle, including development, testing, integration, deployment, and cross-team collaboration
Enhance Windows AI capabilities by building model tools, improving inference performance, and supporting hybrid and local AI solutions
Maintain high engineering standards by focusing on reliability, performance optimization, telemetry, and privacy-by-design practices
Collaborate closely with engineering teams to design and improve core platform components
Build deep expertise in a specific technology area or domain and serve as a subject matter expert
Use customer feedback and telemetry data to drive platform improvements, faster releases, and quicker recovery cycles
Advocate for AI-assisted development practices and integrate AI-driven insights into engineering workflows
