About This Role
Sony is seeking a highly motivated and talented individual to join their team as a Speech Generation Intern. This is a fantastic opportunity for students from various disciplines who are looking to start their careers in the field of Intern.
The selected candidate will participate with research scientists or other team members and contribute to cutting-edge multilingual Text-to-Speech (TTS) research and development. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in SOTA TTS development models using advanced generative models.
The paid internship will be for 6 months, starting from the first week of March 2026, and will be a full-time position. The candidate will be required to work from 9:00 to 18:00, Monday to Friday.
Requirements
- PhD or Master’s degree with hands-on experience in SOTA TTS development models using advanced generative models
- Deep Learning/Machine Learning frameworks: Pytorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn
- Knowledge of the state-of-the-art in controllable Text-to-Speech Models
- Knowledge of generative models: Diffusion Models, VQ-VAE/GANs, Flow & LLM based Generative models
- Strong focus on Indian languages
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Excellent communication skills
Responsibilities
- Participate with research scientists or other team members and contribute to cutting-edge multilingual Text-to-Speech (TTS) research and development
- Contribute to implementing modern speech controllable TTS, with a strong focus on Indian languages
- Work on SOTA TTS development models using advanced generative models
- Collaborate with team members to achieve project goals
- Participate in meetings and discussions to share knowledge and ideas
- Contribute to the development of new ideas and solutions
- Work on assigned tasks and projects
