About This Role

Virtusa is seeking a talented individual for the Senior Consultant position. As a Senior Consultant, you will be responsible for leading the design and development of modern data engineering and transformation platforms.

The ideal candidate will have experience in Databricks, Delta Lake, and Apache Spark, and will serve as a subject matter expert in these areas. You will play a key role in shaping how data moves across the organization, from raw ingestion to curated data layers.

This is a hands-on leadership position, where you will actively contribute to solving challenging problems, mentoring engineers, defining technical standards, and making critical architectural decisions that will impact the data platform in the long term.

Requirements

B.E/B.Tech degree in a relevant field
Experience with Databricks, Delta Lake, and Apache Spark
Strong understanding of data engineering and transformation platforms
Leadership and mentoring experience
Excellent problem-solving skills
Strong communication and collaboration skills

Responsibilities

Take ownership of the technical design and development of Databricks-based data pipelines and frameworks
Create and review data ingestion, transformation, and publishing processes using the Bronze–Silver–Gold architecture
Establish best practices for Delta Lake, including schema evolution, SCD handling, and metadata-driven transformations
Provide technical guidance and leadership across multiple data engineering teams
Mentor junior data engineers and help strengthen the overall engineering standards within the team
Manage Unity Catalog governance, including access control (RBAC), data lineage, and schema enforcement
