About This Role

The SBI Youth for India Fellowship 2026 is a 13-month long program that enables the nation's youth to work on rural development projects in partnership with experienced NGOs.

The program aims to promote a more equitable and sustainable development model for India by encouraging young people to work in rural areas, reducing the rural-urban divide, and promoting a more inclusive growth trajectory for the country.

As a Fellow, you will have the opportunity to work with rural communities, create positive change at the grass root level, and contribute to the development of the country.

Requirements

Must have completed a Bachelor's degree
Must be an Indian citizen, a citizen of Nepal or Bhutan, or an Overseas Citizen of India (OCI)
Must be between 21 and 32 years of age on the day of commencement of the program
Must be willing to work in rural areas
Must have a strong passion for social development and community work
Must be able to communicate effectively in English and the local language
Must be able to work independently and as part of a team

Responsibilities

Work with rural communities to create positive change at the grass root level
Contribute to the development of the country by promoting a more equitable and sustainable development model
Collaborate with experienced NGOs to implement development projects
Participate in training programs and workshops to enhance skills and knowledge
Document and share experiences and learnings from the Fellowship program
Contribute to the alumni network and continue to work towards rural development throughout professional life
Participate in community engagement and outreach activities
