After transitioning from a biology background, he began working as a medical representative. Initially, he had little connection to the field, but the promise of a high salary and the chance to apply his scientific knowledge motivated him to succeed. His first posting in Tamil Nadu brought cultural and linguistic challenges, but his determination and persistence helped him overcome these obstacles.

Recognizing the value of further education, he diligently prepared for and successfully cleared the CAT exam, securing admission to the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT). Inspired by his uncle’s successful career abroad, he aspired to move overseas for a fulfilling job and vibrant career. Despite an initial setback due to an immigration scam, he persevered and eventually obtained Canadian immigration papers. With $3,000 in savings from his previous job, he made the bold decision to drop out of IIFT after the first semester and moved to Canada in late 1997.

In Canada, he faced the challenge of finding a job that matched his skills. Advised by fellow immigrants, he pivoted from pursuing an MBA to a degree in computer science. With hard work and the support of a Pakistani classmate, he quickly learned programming. Financing his education through student loans and a part-time job as a bartender, he completed his bachelor’s degree in just 13 months and seamlessly transitioned into a master’s program focusing on artificial intelligence.

His academic success led to a teaching position in Canada, but his entrepreneurial spirit pushed him to seek more. Inspired by mentors, he pursued opportunities beyond traditional employment. After moving to the U.S., he joined a manufacturing company, where he was introduced to SAP. Mastering this technology paved the way for his entrepreneurial journey.

In 2005, he joined Cognitus and quickly rose through the ranks, offering innovative ideas that helped the firm transition into services. During this period, he was instrumental in shaping SAP careers, laying the foundation for many successful professionals. By 2010, he became a full partner, driving the strategic shift to include an offshore team, significantly boosting growth. His resilience and strategic thinking were particularly evident during the COVID-19 pandemic. Faced with project delays and idle employees, he pivoted the company to build a new product in the aerospace and defense industry. This proactive approach led to securing a major project, contributing to remarkable growth.

Today, Cognitus has expanded to over 1,000 employees and contractors. His journey from humble beginnings in rural India to leading a successful consulting firm is a testament to the power of hard work, determination, and the willingness to take calculated risks.
